University of Minnesota Researchers Tried to Poison the Linux Kernel – The New Stack

Our community does not appreciate being experimented on, and being “tested” by submitting known patches that are either do nothing on purpose or introduce bugs on purpose. If you wish to do work like this, I suggest you find a different community to run your experiments on, you are not welcome here.

Because of these actions, the entire university was banned from submitted patches to the Linux kernel.

Milgram experiment – Wikipedia

The experiment found, unexpectedly, that a very high proportion of subjects would fully obey the instructions, albeit reluctantly. Milgram first described his research in a 1963 article in the Journal of Abnormal and Social Psychology[1] and later discussed his findings in greater depth in his 1974 book, Obedience to Authority: An Experimental View.[3]
